La Crosse L89-117 Glass Weather Station - Cherry

This elegant weather glass barometer weather station blends old and new technologies to interpret weather. The water barometer, or storm glass, is of the type used since the 17th century to demonstrate variations in atmospheric pressure quickly and reliably. A low water level in the spout indicates high pressure and fair weather. The water rises in the spout (and may spill over) in severe weather as pressure falls. Above the storm glass barometer please note the German made thermometer/hygrometer that measures temperature and humidity. If the needles cross in the darkened center area, you are in the comfort zone. This international weather station features glassware from Taiwan and instrumentation from Germany mounted on a cherry finished ash stand made in Minnesota.
